Yesterday we went out to celebrate Marie's birthday. We were 25-30 people who all went to a Japanese steakouse to celebrate her, and after that there was a small party at her place before we went to the bars.
The food was really good - I had sushi, so I was happy! Back at the apartment someone had taken care of the cake and we sang happy birthday.
Since there is no public transport in town, and it is an absolute no-go to actually walk down to the bars, someone has come up with an alternative way of transportation.
Usually there is one or two people who stay sober until we get to the bars so they can actually drive down there, but when that is not the case, you can call the "Tipsy Transit".
Tipsy Transit is a minibus fully equipped with couches inside, and they will take you wherever you need to go. You pay 5$ for a one-way ticket and 7$ for a return trip. They will pick you up where you are, take you where you want to go, and get you back when you want to go home.
It is a pretty clever alternative to the more expensive taxis, the only disadvantage is that sometimes you have to wait a while for them to have time to pick you up, but when you are a big group that doesn't really matter.
